I'm going to beat NMB to the post about lunch. We ordered the new Tuscani pasta (chicken alfredo) for lunch today....OMG there was none left, it was delicious. Along with it we got the chocolate dunkers. For those who haven't tried either of these from Pizza Hut yet, trust me it's worth it. The meal with breadsticks was only $25 and easily feed four of us. I'll not be blogging the rest of the afternoon though because I'm going to need a nap after all the carbs.

All that and it's still FLAT
As I mentioned a week ago, I got the perm. Yesterday I finally decided to blow out my hair and curl it instead of leaving it in the "permed" look. I used a big iron on it and within 1/2 an hour it was just as flat as before I got the perm. That was money well spent.

Hard Year
I'm ready for 2008 to END!
This has just been a hard year. This morning another Great Aunt died and I will therefore be attending my 8th funeral this year, of which all but one was a relative. Granted I have a really large family that is starting to "age" but good grief, enough already.
This is a pic of Aunt Pat last October. We had a cookout in the backyard for her birthday. We had a really good night sitting out under the stars on a cool night with a bonfire, hotdogs, chili, hot chocolate and somemores! What more could you ask for.
Johnathon played his new trumpet (not well, but he played), Matt played the guitar and Katie played with the fire. Grandma Shurtz helped Matt play the guitar, they were quite a pair. I can't say that they sounded any better than the trumpet, just not quite as loud. You should have heard our version of "Happy Birthday"!

Love my Starbucks
Just ran out for my afternoon Starbucks with my friend. Of course we made it into a business "outing" as to not get into trouble! I think bucks puts something into their coffee that makes it addictive, why else would we crave these so?

Talent
I was just reading a blog of my cousins which got me to thinking. Do you think that "families" are born with talent. I don't mean to sound conceited but my family is talented. Most of my Aunts and my mother have at least one artistic/crafty talent and it seems that the female and some male cousins have also inherited this trait. We can sew, knit, crochet, photograph, stamp, scrapbook, decorate, paint, woodworking just to name a few of our capabilities. So, am I prejudiced and only see what's right in front of my face or does talent really run in families? Is your family as talent as mine?? I think my family can do just about anything they set their minds to.
Perm it is...
I went ahead and got the perm on Saturday. I don't hate it but don't really LOVE it either. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever loved a perm in the first week that I got it. I'm trying to leave it curly/scrunched for a week so that the perm will relax on it's on and still stay permed. I've killed a perm in the past attempting to straighten it too quickly. I can't wait it blow dry it out straight and use the big curling iron on it though. I think it may actually have body now!! But until then I'll continue with the "Annie" look for a few more days.

To Perm or not to Perm
I'm a little nervous, I just made an appointment to get my hair permed. I haven't had a perm since the summer of 2006. It took almost 2 years for me to get that perm (which was awful) out of my hair. The problem is that my hair is super staight and flat without a perm. So keep your fingers crosses that this one is okay! Will post pics next week....if I like the perm.
