I'm an accountant by day and crafter at night. I love a decorating challenge, floral arrangements are probably my favorite part when decorating a wedding/party. I'm an independent Longaberger consultant and avid collector (check out my Longaberger website).

My favorite hobby is scrapbooking! Of course scrapping got me into photography, digital photography to be exact. I quickly discovered that I LOVE taking pictures! I just got the Nikon D300....words don't measure up to this camera - well worth the $$. I crochet while I watch tv and mess around on the computer whenever I get a few moments.

I may just learn how to use my CAMERA

I started my photography class at JALC last night. The instructor has over 35 years experience in photography/teaching which I was happy to hear. I think the first class was a little overwhelming to most in there. I thought I was going to look like an idiot and everyone else in the class would know a lot more about their camera and taking pics than I would....not so, we're all beginners.

The only thing that I can see that would make the class better is if we'd separate into camera mfg. A Nikon and Cannon aren't the same camera. I'm not going to get into which is better (I own a Nikon though!!), just the simple fact that there are soooo many differences between the mechanics of the two brands and for true beginners which we all are it would be helpful if I could ask more pointed questions on my specific camera.

I'll have to remember to bring the manual to the next class so that I can look up things specific to my camera as we go along. Knowing what a button does and making it do it aren't really the same concept at all. I did learn what a button on my camera was last night that I can't wait to read about and try out, had I know what it was I would have been using in my still shot pics of Arielle.

I wish we meet more than once a week!!!

FYI - I noticed on JALC's website yesterday that if you're over 60 you get to take the ACE classes for FREE. So I signed my father up for a class at the DuQuoin extension.....it's free, why not.

Hi All
Preliminary plans are being made for the Class of 1989 twenty-year class reunion.

Anyone is welcome to help with the planning, contact Chris or Sherry if you would like to be a part of the planning committee at 618-625-2535.

In addition, we are planning to invite fellow classmates from the years 1986 – 1992, everyone we went to high school with. Therefore, our mailing list will require some extensive searching for addresses. If anyone has any resources available, meaning, if you have already planned your class reunion and you have a mailing list…could your old’ buddies from the class of 1989 get a copy.

There has been a website created by Chris Gore to initiate communication with classmates, friends, and family. Please go to the website and register. Share your ideas about the class reunion, or memories, or whatever. It is a blog devoted to the Sesser Valier Class of 1989.

I hope that this will be a fun filled event. In addition, should be a good time to reconnect with classmates and friends
